The sun represents what drives us in life, what gives us energy and purpose (kind of like the sun in our daily lives — when the sun rises, we are compelled to “rise,” to start our daily activities). The moon represents our bodily experience in the world which can include our emotional experience — just as the moon changes phases, we can fluctuate in mood and bodily condition. We look to the ascendant angle to get a sense of the personality, the character, how someone will naturally show up in the world and sometimes is perceived by others. That the self expression is out of his control. Because Venus is the ruler of his 9th house, it's likely that Fred's art is how he tries to make sense of the world, to gain perspective, to take ideas and make them material (Taurus).
